Borussia Dortmund have managed to get themselves in yet another contract and transfer situation. For a club perceived as being run superbly, Dortmund seem to have more contract issues than they really should and the situation with Henrikh Mkhitaryan is the latest example.

Mkhitaryan has been allowed to get to the last year of his contract, and that means his agent Mino Raiola holds all the power. German newspaper Bild explain that Mkhitaryan and Raiola have rejected advances to extend that contract, and Bild believe offers from England will have turned the player's head.
Arsenal are said to have made a 'lucrative offer', and it sounds to be in terms of wages to Mkhitaryan, rather than a transfer fee to his current club, something which would have to be agreed separately. If Mkhitaryan continues to refuse a renewal then Dortmund have a clear choice: Sell or keep him a year and see the player go for free.
The player is said to want a 'Tuchel clause' in any new deal, allowing him to leave if Dortmund's coach of one year does the same.
