Bundesliga club looking to sign Chelsea star

Borussia Monchengladbach are reportedly keen to sign Andreas Christensen on a permanent deal at the end of his two-year loan move from Chelsea.

According to Bild, the Bundesliga side are willing to break their transfer record by using the money from the sale of Granit Xhaka to Arsenal to invest in the Danish defender.

Despite being held in high regard at Stamford Bridge, Monchengladbach are lining up a £15million bid to test Chelsea’s resolve.

The Blues tried to bring the youngster back to the club this summer but could not work a deal out with the Bundesliga outfit after originally agreeing on a two-year loan deal.

 

The German side have previously signed Thorgan Hazard permanently after taking him on loan from Chelsea.

A £15million deal would break the club’s £11.4million record that they paid for the Dutch striker, Luuk de Jong in 2012.

Christensen has impressed for Monchengladbach during his loan-spell so it’s no surprise that they want to keep him.
